Will ESET Mobile Security for Android work on my Tablet device?

ESET Mobile Security for Android includes some (calling-based) features that are only available on Android smartphones. Though ESET does provide support for tablet devices such as the Kindle Fire, the following functions are not available on tablet devices at this time:

  • Tablets without a data plan will not be able to use SMS Commands (no phone number associated with the tablet). If you forget your password, you will not be able to use any of the traditional methods (trusted friends) to unlock your device.
     
  • Call Interceptor: Not supported (no calling on tablets).
     
  • Find my Device (tablets with no GPS).


ESET Mobile Security for Android is compatible with all current public releases of Android OS

  • ESET does not provide support for rooted Android devices

NOTE:

For the Kindle Fire and other tablet devices using only Wi-Fi, the functionality of ESET Mobile Security for Android is limited to scanning only.

 

Kindle Fire HD – Known Issues

Due to manufacturer limitations relating to device administrator permissions with this tablet device:

  • ESET Mobile Security is not protected from unauthorized uninstallation 
  • ESET Mobile Security will display the "Security Risk!" warning for the device administrator function
