How do I password protect Parental control settings in ESET Smart Security? (5.x)

Important!

Before configuring ESET Parental control, you need to set up Windows user accounts for each person accessing the computer. Without completing this important step, Parental control is ineffective in shielding children from inappropriate web content. NOTE:

By default, password protecting your Parental control settings will also protect access to other important settings in ESET Smart Security 5.

  1. Open ESET Smart Security. How do I open my ESET product?
     
  2. Click Setup Parental control.

  3. In the Parental control module, click Set password...

  4. In the Password setup window, enter your password into the New password and Confirm new password fields. Click OK to save your changes.

You will now be prompted for a password when you attempt to access password protected features or settings in the user interface (see Figure 1-4).

NOTE:

This password is required to modify or remove password protection in your ESET security product. In the event that you create a password and later forget it, refer to the following Knowledgebase article for assistance:
