  1. What is ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server?
    ESET File Security is a new product that provides advanced protection for file servers while keeping system resource use to a minimum. ESET File Security eliminates the need to install ESET Endpoint products on servers.
     
  2. What is the difference between ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server and ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server Core?
    ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server Core is a performance-optimized version of ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server (EFSW). Unlike EFSW, ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server Core does not include the following: Document protection module, Email client protection module, mail integration plug-ins, ESET Rescue CD Creator, ESET SysInspector and graphical user interface.

    NOTE:

    Because ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server Core does not include a graphical user interface, ESET eShell is required to run all commands. Click the appropriate link below to view eShell commands for you product.
     

     


     
  3. Which ESET security product is ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server replacing?
    ESET File Security replaced ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Windows File Server, and eliminates the need to install ESET Endpoint products on servers.

  7. Can I edit the default automatic exclusions?
    No, automatic exclusions are hard-coded and were created according to Microsoft's recommendations for particular Windows server products.
     
  8. Who needs to upgrade to ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server and when?
    Users with ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Windows File Server, ESET Endpoint Antivirus or ESET Endpoint Security installed on a server should upgrade to ESET File Security to ensure proper functionality. We highly recommend that you complete the upgrade as soon as possible.
