No internet connection due to malware

If you cannot access the internet or receive the message "Internet Explorer could not display the page", it may be caused by malware that has changed your web browser's connection settings. Follow the steps below to restore your internet connection:

  1. Open Internet Explorer and click Tools Internet options.
  2. Select the Connections tab.
  3. Click the LAN Settings button and deselect the Proxy server check box.
  4. Click OK and then OK again to close the window.
